First gather all the materials i posted on this part 1 signal side mirror.
The picture at the right is the NOT moded Koso side mirror.
And after hours of drilling, sanding, and cutting,
the back of the side mirror will look like the one on the right photo.The acrylic cut sheet will perfectly fit as if it was not there.
First, with the acrylic 3/4th size sheet, as shown on the right, put the face of the side mirror then mark with any marker, that will be your guide, better have an allowance of additional 1mm for cutting,
When done, cut the marked line with a copping saw and formed it as shown on the right.
This will be the tools to cut the back of the side mirror..I used the 1mm pcb drill bit drilling some hole in pattern on the edge of the mirror allowing some 1mm too for sanding and finishing the edge of the mirror holder.
And after minutes of drilling, the back of the will look like as shown. Use the blade cutter to trim it, better do it slowly, and avoid hurting the back of the miror itself.
After trimming the edge and sanding the acrylic sheet to its final shape with accordance to the shape of the cutted edge of the mirror, its time to refit it to see if it fits well. as shown below

ReplyDeletethe wiring is embed on the stem of the mirror, as well as to rotate the mirror 360 degree..the pivot is drilled on the center to give way for the wire to enter the mirror holder, so that when someone play with it and rotate it..the wire will not go with the turn..

ReplyDeleteuse wire from any defective earphone since its enamel coated so that even if you twist the pair will not get sorted in the long run...as i posted, you must drill the center of the pivot holding the side mirror to the stem..the stem will be drilled too to make way for the wires...I'll try to post some pictures of the stem...thank you

ReplyDeletesir, do you just tap the wire to the wiring of the signal light? do you need a flasher relay for this? TIA... nice job sir....
ReplyDeletethe wire of the side mirror signal light will be tapped directly on the front signal light bulb, no add ons. If you use all leds all the way then an electronic relay for leds is nescessary to be able to make your signal lights work..THERMAL flasher will not blink a LED because of its high resistance..
